History

 

International Affairs Division had been founded as Foreign Affairs Section, Foreign Relations Planning Subdivision of Public Relations Division under the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration before being promoted to be Foreign Affairs Subdivision of Public Relation Division, and to be Foreign Relations Group subsequently.

On 28 August 1995, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Civil Service Commission resolved to approve the promotion of the Foreign Relations Group to be the International Affairs Division under Policy and Planning Department. Later, on 20 December 2004, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Civil Service Commission resolved to approve the transfer of the International Affairs Division from Policy and Planning Department to be under the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration since coordination between Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (“BMA”) and foreign agencies or organizations was required, with urgent policies needed to be executed quickly. The organization structure of the Division is as follows:

        2. International Affairs Group II

        3. Administrative Section
