Fukuoka Students Pay Courtesy Call on Deputy Permanent Secretary for BMA (Tuesday, August 22, 2017)


            On 22 August 2017, 10.00 hours, at Nopharat Room, Bangkok City Hall, Mrs. Rachaneewan Asvathitanon, Deputy Permanent Secretary for the BMA and staff of Foreign Affairs Office welcomed Fukuoka Prefecture’s youth delegates who were on a visit to Bangkok for Specialized Youth Exchange Program.

            The delegates were visited Bangkok on 21 – 26 August 2017 to join Bangkok students and create animated shorts to commemorate 130th Anniversary of Japan-Thailand Diplomatic Relations. The Bangkok students are scheduled to visit Fukuoka Prefecture to learn and make animations with the Fukuoka students.

            Specialized Youth Exchange Program was cooperated by the BMA and FPC. It was one of the activities of the two cities’ Sister City Youth Programs. Bangkok youth delegation has visited Fukuoka Prefecture since 2015. This year was the first time that Fukuoka students visited Bangkok.

            Deputy Permanent Secretary said it is obvious that Japan is proficient in film making and animated movie production with long time experience and continuous development. This exchange program was a chance to help Thai students learn and make exchange on these matters. The students would receive first-hand experience when they visited Fukuoka. During the visit of Fukuoka delegates in Bangkok, the BMA was content and ready to receive suggestions to improve the program. She hoped that this program would help strengthen the relations between the two cities and the two countries.
