Governor Of Aichi Prefecture paid a courtesy call on Governor of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

                    On 22nd August 2018 at 14.45 hrs., Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok and the executives of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) welcomed Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, and delegates from Aichi Prefectural Government and business organizations totaling 15 persons such as Chairman of Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Mr. Ado Yamamoto), President & CEO of Central Japan International Airport Co., Ltd. (Mr. Masanao Tomozoe), Managing Director of Central Japan Economic Federation          (Mr. Daisuke Kurihara), and Director-General for Chubu Region & Chief Director of JETRO Nagoya  (Mr. Akira Kajita) at Amorn Phimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.

                   Mr. Hideaki Ohmura, Governor of Aichi Prefecture, mentioned about the opportunity for future cooperation and continuation of collaboration projects between the BMA and Aichi Prefecture.  Until now, both cities have fostered good relationship with the youth exchange programs and intercity visits. On this opportunity, Aichi’s Governor proposed an official letter of intention for initiating sister school exchange program between Matthayom Suttharam School in Bangkok and Tsushima High School in Aichi Prefecture.  Aichi’s Governor also mentioned about providing scholarships and cooperation in the field of nursing with Navamindradhiraj University which is an autonomous higher education institution under supervision of BMA.

                   Previously, Bangkok’s representatives had been dispatched to Japan for study visits on environment, waste management and water management. Those visits related to alleviate urban problems by bringing knowhow from other countries and looking for the most efficient solutions, said Governor of Bangkok. This visit of Aichi’s Governor is to emphasize the cordial tie of relationship between Bangkok and Aichi Prefecture to go forward under beneficial cooperation of people of two cities.

                   During visit, Aichi Prefecture Delegation had a chance to discuss with board members and executives of Thai Airways Co., Ltd. on possibility of remaining the number of flight and enlarging the size of aircrafts which fly to Nagoya. The Delegation also met with Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Minister of Transport to request for support for entrepreneurs and investors form Aichi prefecture. In addition, the Delegation persuaded Bangkok’s people to visit Aichi to experience the flavorful foods, good sake and picturesque nature.

                   In this regard, Mr. Masanao Tomozoe, president & CEO of Central Japan International Airport Co., Ltd. revealed that Chubu international airport services approximately 320,000 people per day and almost 35% are Thais. The Delegation request BMA’s cooperation to publicize Aichi Prefecture to Thai people to visit Aichi in order to increase the number of Thai tourists to experience the services from Chubu international airport. Furthermore, the President of Chubu International Airport said that he recently has an idea to recruit Thai people to work in the airport so that the airport will be able to increase capacity of service to support Thai tourists in the near future.
