Morocco’s Ambassador to Thailand paid a courtesy call on Governor of Bangkok

              On 12 February 2019, Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, together with Chairman of Advisers to Governor of Bangkok, Deputy Governor of Bangkok (Mr. Kriangyos Sudlabha), Advisers to Governor of Bangkok (Pol.Lt.Gen. Sopon Pisuttiwong, Pol.Maj.Gen. Panurat Meepien and Mr. Tammarat Wanglee), Director of International Affairs Office and BMA Officials welcomed Mr. Abdelilah El Housni, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Kingdom of Thailand and delegation from Moroccan Embassy, consisting of Dr. Abdelrhani Charfi, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission and Mrs. Pitiporn Parnichprapai, Secretary to the Moroccan ambassador
at Amornphimarn Room, Bangkok City Hall.

             Moroccan ambassador stated that Thailand and Morocco have the similarity in government system in ruling the country by resorting to constitutional monarchy. The close and long - lasting relations between Thailand and Morocco have been lasted for 32 years.
In particular, the royal visits play a consequential role to enhance the propitious relationship of the two countries.       In 2019, Morocco will host the 4th edition of “Smart Cities Africa Casablanca” event which will be held in Casablanca from 17 to 21 April 2019. In this regard, the ambassador extended to the Governor of Bangkok the invitation for the said event as the Guest of Honor on the occasion that Thailand succeeds the chairmanship of ASEAN and to represent not only Bangkok City but also ASEAN cities.  This is the opportunity to show BMA’s aspiration in moving forward the development of ASEAN Smart Cities Network as well as the national policy on “Thailand Smart City Strategy” and “Thailand 4.0 Initiatives”.
