On 15 February 2019, 15.30 hrs. at City Hall, Ms. Ampa Norranattakul, Deputy Director–General, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Budget Department, together with Mrs. Anusara Chuensuang, Director of International Affairs Office, and representatives from Fiscal Policy Office, Finance Department, welcomed the delegation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Ms. Alice Laidlaw, Head Global Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure, based in Washington D.C. In this regard, the IFC delegation gave a presentation on IFC’s main products and service as well as new projects for Municipal and local administrative Governments to develop economic growth, so called “Cities Funding”, in providing funds to support municipalities worldwide for important projects, especially transportations and infrastructures, which can be proceeded in accordance with cities regulation and financed the loan without the central government's guarantee. In addition, IFC will be a consultant for loan and long-term financial planning and city supporter in structuring Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). They also presented some case studies, such as Public Transport System Extension in Istanbul – Turkey, Waste-to-energy Public Private Partnership in Belgrade – Serbia, and Public Transport System Modernization in Mariupol – Ukraine.

In this occasion, the delegation asked about priority of infrastructure development projects and financial and budget management. Regarding the implementation of mega projects and massive infrastructure projects of BMA, including BTS Green Line extension, representatives from Fiscal Policy Office explained that BMA adopts the balanced budget policy meanwhile some massive projects will be proposed in the strategy plan for public private partnership investment.
