Bangkok Representatives Participated in the 2019 Urban Planning Workshop for Beijing’s Sister Cities along the Belt and Road

           Two Bangkok officials from City Planning and Urban Development Department and International Affairs Office visited Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, during 15 – 22 September 2019 to participate in “the 2019 Urban Planning Workshop for Beijing’s Sister Cities along the Belt and Road”.  The Workshop was aimed to promote cooperation and exchanges between Beijing and its sister cities upon city planning of diverse aspects. City representatives from ten countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Ukraine, Kenya, Turkey and Denmark were invited to join the Workshop.  Participants have learned fruitful information relating Beijing city planning through various interactive lectures and site visits in the following topics:      

          1. Lectures: urban planning of Beijing, planning of the preservation of Beijing as a historic and cultural City, planning of the sub-center, the sponge city of Tongzhou District, planning of the Daxing International Airport and comprehensive transportation planning of Beijing and planning of the comprehensive service area for high-end industries in Shougang Area.

          2. Site Visits: Qianmen Area, pilot project of the sponge city and the Grand Canal Forest Park and Bicycle Track from Huilongguan to Shangdi and the Beiyuan Transportation Hub.
